At the Phase 1 Residents Association that took place in November, there were insufficient numbers in attendance to elect a new committee.

At that meeting, it was decided that an Extraordinary General Meeting should be called with the express purpose of selecting a new committee for the phase 1 residents association.

Many of the existing committee have been involved with the association for a number of years (some since it’s very beginning) and for various reasons need to step down. Without enough people to replace those stepping down, there will not be a viable committee and the residents association will disband.

The EGM will take place on Wednesday 20th February upstairs in the Kildrought Lounge, Celbridge. Room will open at 8, meeting will start at 8:15 sharp.

In the last year, the Residents Association has:

• Facilitated the summer clean up week – Oldtown Mill won “Best Large Estate” in the Celbridge Tidy Towns competition.
• Sponsored the first Oldtown Mill Christmas Party – An hugely successful event that was enjoyed by all.
• Made representation to the Management Company to ensure that the estate is maintained to the standards we should expect.

The Residents Association also tries to represent the interests of all members on local planning issues, taking the estate in charge by the council, completion of snag lists by all the developers involved in Oldtown Mill.

We need the support of all members in order to be able to continue this work… Members of the current committee will be calling to you in the coming weeks to ask for your support.

Is there anyone who would be interested in volunteering to be a point of contact for Oldtown Mill… we need about 3 people for an estate this size.

All that’s required is that you can attend one or two meetings a year with reps from other estates in the area and Sgt. John Hickey from the Gardai.

Please come down and collect what you need. Any rubbish you collect will be collected by Kildare County Council on Monday, July 2nd.
We’re asking everyone to help out and do your piece, even if all you can spare, is 15 minutes to tidy up outside your gate.
